Many of you have been in touch about the work you are undertaking to complete the diabetes audit and review cycle.
As you may remember, this is a piece of work, in a clinical priority, area that incentives practices to look at a high cost patient group, and ensure these patients are getting the clinical outcomes we should expect from those medicines.
I’ve had great feedback so far which will enable me to refine any future audits so they are hopefully easier for you to complete. I’ve also had great feedback about the review process and how the incentive has allowed for extra time to look at these patients in more depth and ensure they are being treated effectively. The information derived from this review will be used to inform the next stages of the work programme, more on which will follow next month.
A final top tip, to minimise admin burden please feel free to submit one invoice for your surgery once any patient reviews have taken place as a result of the audit rather than submitting an invoice just for the tiered audit payment.
