Two new staff members have arrived at the SGPA to take on the role of Cancer Awareness Development Worker; to work across both Sunderland and South Tyneside.
The Cancer Awareness Development Worker role is very new and exciting; the staff will be working within the local community to raise awareness on how to spot signs, symptoms and also screening options. The work will include facilitating meetings and attending local events to help increase screening uptake at GP Practices.
The Sunderland GP Alliance will host both roles with South Tyneside CCG supporting the South Tyneside post.
We would like to welcome Georgina and James to the team and wish them well in their new roles. They bring with them a variety of experience which we are sure will help develop the service.
