Sunderland GP Alliance have secured funding of £60K from the Primary Care Infrastructure Fund to purchase laptops for use in Integrated Teams. These will allow mobile working for GPs and Practice Nurses in care homes, patients’ own homes, primary care centres or in other GP practices, helping everyone make best use of their time.
The laptops will have EMIS Access which will allow clinical professionals attending the Integrated Teams to access and update patients records in real time, whilst ensuring amendments to Emergency Health Care Plans can be made with immediate effect. Information Governance will be enhanced by reducing the need to print, and remove from practices, confidential patient records.
The laptops are Dell Latitude E5450 laptops, with Microsoft Office, network accounts, secure remote access and 3G connectivity will be via a dongle. The Alliance will loan a laptop to any interested member practice, and cover all maintenance and support. The only cost to the practice will be to cover any connectivity charges that take advantage of the 3G functionality. Please let us know asap if you’d like to benefit from a laptop.
Once these laptops are delivered and built, we will arrange 3 sessions whereby people book onto a slot and collect their equipment and get BMS setup. We will update you in due course.
